Al Jazeera reports that a bomb has exploded on the third floor of the Syrian state television and radio headquarters in Damascus. The blast injured several who worked in the building, but no fatalities were reported.
The attack appears to be part of the “hit-and-run” style favored by insurgents in Damascus, employing brief attacks on state assets followed by tactical retreats. Information Minister Omran al-Zoabi fingered the rebels as responsible for Monday’s attack. “We know who is behind this cowardly, desperate and deplorable act,” Zoabi said. “Nothing will stop the voice of Syria.”
