Tunisian Consulate In Tripoli Sees Bomb Attack

Reuters reports that a bomb exploded outside the Tunisian consulate in Tripoli, the latest in a series of attacks on foreign targets in the country. No injuries were reported, but the explosion damaged the consulate’s rear gate. Libyan officials shared no information on potential suspects, though video showed four men toss a bomb from a moving car.

The attack comes one day after Tunisia extradited Muammar Qaddafi’s former prime minister back to Libya over the concerns of numerous human rights groups. Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmoudi, who had been held in Tunisia since September, is now first senior official under Qaddafi to be returned to Libya for trial.
