MSNBC reports that at least 224 homes have been destroyed as a wildfire blazes through southern New Mexico. The fire, which is currently 36,000 acres large and centered near the town of Ruidoso, forced hundreds of residents to evacuate. No casualties have been reported.
The blaze is one of 19 large fires burning across nine states, including the 68-square-mile High Park Fire that covered Denver in a smoky haze on Tuesday.
