President Obama, Mitt Romney and other candidates can now receive donations via text messages, the FEC ruled late Monday.
The Washington Post reports that the proposal attracted support from borth parties, who view it as a counterweight to wealthy political donors. The text-message contributions can take up to two months to come through.
