Armed robbers killed 23 people in two villages in northern Nigeria, reports the BBC. Eyewitnesses told BBC that 80 people, riding on motorbikes, launched attacks on a pair of remote northern villages.
The attacks, which also killed a policeman, are believed to have come in response to the killing of a suspected group of armed robbers by villagers and vigilante groups in 2011.
