Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI) — the top Republican on the powerful Ways and Means Committee — took a pass on whether he’ll move legislation, based on the GOP budget, to convert Medicare into a subsidized private insurance system.
“Let’s get a budget past and then I’ll talk to you about that,” Camp said.
His reticence reflects the controversial nature of the GOP’s vision for reforming the popular health care program for seniors.
