The White House announced the appointment of a new chief technology officer on Friday: Todd Park, formerly the chief technology officer of the Department of Health and Human Services, steps into the role vacated by Aneesh Chopra on January 27. President Obama created the postion of chief tech officer on his first day in office to “help modernize a Federal government relying too heavily on 20th century technology, and to better use technological tools to address a wide range of national challenges,” the White House explains.
