Sharron Angle Expects To Be National Surrogate For Santorum

Her endorsement of Rick Santorum may not have meant much in her home state, but supporters of former U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle (R-NV) say she’ll have a bigger impact on the national campaign trail.

From the Las Vegas Sun:

That Angle’s endorsement might not help Santorum in Nevada doesn’t come as a total surprise: Even her closest friends said earlier this week that “even if (Santorum) doesn’t win Nevada, Sharron’s endorsement will help nationwide.”

Angle is anticipating making campaign stops for Santorum in other states as he continues his race. But Nevada’s disinterest is the surest sign yet that the Tea Party-driven cult of Angle that made her an object of national fascination has waned — and so too has her influence as an endorser.

The Sun notes the the one-time opponent of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is now offering “a subtle hint” that she’ll run for school board.
