The Washington state Senate on Wednesday passed a bill to legalize gay marriage. The measure passed 28-21 and now heads to the House, where it’s likely to win swift approval, Reuters reports.
If the bill becomes law, Washington will join six other states and Washington, D.C. in recognizing same-sex marriage.
