Newt Gingrich’s campaign has unveiled its first television ad that targets Mitt Romney in South Carolina, taking aim at the “Massachusetts moderate” on pro-life grounds. The spot features a female narrator who details Romney’s record between the time he “changed his position from pro-abortion to pro-life,” citing the GOP frontrunner’s appointment of a “pro-abortion judge” and expansion of access to emergency contraception when he was governor of Massachusetts. The release of the ad, which can be viewed in full at the Washington Post, dovetails with the pro-Gingrich Super PAC’s $3.4 million commitment in the state.
