Bush Senior Says Romney Is Best Candidate

In an interview with the Houston Chronicle, George H.W. Bush said, though not officially endorsing Mitt Romney, “I think Romney is the best choice for us.” Bush noted that the candidate was “mature” and “reasonable” and that he had known Mitt for a long time.

Bush ruled out Perry, saying, “I like Perry, but he doesn’t seem to be going anywhere; he’s not surging forward.” On Gingrich, he said, “I’m not his biggest advocate.”
