The king of the magic wall is about to become the king of CNN primetime. A day after longtime anchor Lou Dobbs stepped down from his 7 p.m. show on the news network, CNN executives named “State of the Union” host John King as his replacement.
From the CNN release (h/t TVNewser):
As one of the nation’s leading political reporters, King will host a definitive political hour that goes well beyond the surface of the day’s top stories to provide in-depth analysis and context to key political movements in Washington and across the nation.
King’s show will begin in “early 2010,” according to Politico. The paper caught up with King and got his take on the new show:
“I don’t come to the table with an ideological bias,” King told POLITICO by phone from Montana. “I’m fascinated by all sides of these issues.”
