Sen.-elect Scott Brown (R-MA) appeared on The Today Show this morning to talk about his win and his plans for the Senate.
He denied that he wants to kill health care entirely, saying instead that states should choose their own health care systems, with the help of “federal incentives.”
Brown also warned Senate leadership against trying to pass health care before he’s sworn in, and seemed to suggest Democrats shouldn’t try to pass the Senate bill through the House verbatim, either.
The timing “is up to the leadership in the Senate. I think, though, if they use some political chicanery and they do it without having it go back and forth with proper votes, I think come midterm elections people will be very concerned. And they’ll remember,” he said.
