Tim Pawlenty: ‘I’m Running For President’ (VIDEO)

Former Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN)

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty says he’s running for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.

Less than a month after launching his presidential exploratory committee — and on the heels of his announcement of former Republican Governors Association chief Nick Ayers as his campaign manager — Pawlenty dropped all remaining pretense and told CNN’s Piers Morgan what everyone already knows.

“I’m running for President,” he said. “I’m not putting my hat in the ring rhetorically or ultimately for Vice President. I’m focused on running for President.”

Pawlenty also talked Donald Trump (he called him “funny” and “exciting”) and his primary strategy (which he called “tortoise and hare.”)
