Today’s lesson in priorities from Tea Party Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL): Joint address to Congress by the president about the number one issue of the day, jobs? Waste of time. The ritual White House Christmas Party where you get to pose with the president for a staged photo? Sign me up.
Lynn Sweet reports Walsh — last seen screaming at a constituent in a restaurant — showed up to the White House Christmas party, an annual event where you wait in line for a chance to get your picture taken with the president and hang out with other guests.
It’s a surprising move for Walsh, who called President Obama “idiotic” for requesting time before a joint session of Congress in September to talk about jobs.
He refused to attend Obama’s address, saying “I don’t see the point of being a prop for another of the president’s speeches.”
But when it comes to using Obama as a prop in a staged holiday photo, Walsh appears to be all for it.
