Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed Thursday that he will be meeting one-on-one with President Donald Trump at the G-20 summit in Argentina, despite Trump’s half-hearted threats to cancel earlier in the week.
According to a Thursday Washington Post report, Trump’s suggestion that he may skip it due to Russia’s aggression with Ukrainian ships and crew members seems to have fallen flat, as a Kremlin spokesperson confirmed that the U.S. has agreed to the meeting.
Russia has attracted global condemnation for its actions over the weekend, though Trump’s lukewarm denunciations up to this point make it seem unlikely that he’ll join in the rebukes during the one-on-one with Putin.
