NEW YORK (AP) — A Trump supporter who sued a New York City bar for discrimination after he was thrown out for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat has lost his lawsuit.
Philadelphia accountant Greg Piatek claims the staff of The Happiest Hour in Manhattan said he wasn’t welcome because he and his friends supported the Republican president after they complained of rude service.
He sued the West Village bar claiming the incident “offended his sense of being American.”
A judge on Wednesday tossed the lawsuit saying the law doesn’t protect against political discrimination.
The bar’s lawyer pointed out that only religious beliefs are protected under state and city laws, saying that “supporting Trump is not a religion.”
Piatek’s lawyer told The New York Post he’ll decide on whether or not to appeal.
“supporting Trump is not a religion.”
I’m sure that 45 would disagree.
WTF does that mean?
Not only did he have no legal basis for a “political” discrimination claim, but, like any good Trump supporter, he was fabricating the whole story in the first place:
The guy is a liar who made up the whole thing. Hope the bar now sues him for defamation.
***TPM: Please edit your story to note that his claim that he was thrown out is just that – a mere claim, unsupported by any evidence.
Bub, you might want to think about other things that could offend your sense of being an American.
I’m not sure about that. If you accept the definition of “faith” as, “belief in things for which there is no objective evidence,” you might conclude that Trumpism fits the description.
