President Donald Trump quoted the actor and author Ben Stein to celebrate Republicans picking up seats in the Senate on Wednesday.
“There’s only been 5 times in the last 105 years that an incumbent President has won seats in the Senate in the off year election. Mr. Trump has magic about him. This guy has magic coming out of his ears. He is an astonishing vote getter & campaigner. The Republicans are………

….unbelievably lucky to have him and I’m just awed at how well they’ve done. It’s all the Trump magic – Trump is the magic man. Incredible, he’s got the entire media against him, attacking him every day, and he pulls out these enormous wins.” Ben Stein, “The Capitalist Code”

The tweets quoted from Stein’s appearance on Fox Business Network at half-past midnight.
lol…considering the democrats help in every way possible to lose elections…by running repiblicons instead of progressives
the winning of the house has the possibility of ending the racist nightmare in the oval office.
now we must force the party to do their job since pelosi has no intention of actually ending this joke unless she is forced to by the people!
So, if I’m right, Senate is elected every 6 years so that’s 105/6=17.5. So 5 wins would be a third of the contests, correct? So, not really that impressive, correct?
Mueller? Mueller? Mueller?
Not exactly. One third of the Senate is elected every three elections so one third of the Senate was elected, not 1/6. Additionally, a pick up a five seats would mean Republicans, for example, won 18 out of 33 contests.
Thanks, so about half. Stein’s quote seems spun to make it sound like a huge achievement by using the 105 years. Maybe I’m reading it wrong.
