White House communications director Bill Shine had an uphill battle to climb from day one of his job. President Donald Trump does not like to be handled, considers himself his best spokesman and enjoys his adversarial relationship with the press.

And according to a Wednesday New York Times report, Shine is already failing to win Trump’s approval. The mercurial President reportedly thinks Shine has delivered a lackluster performance in ginning up more positive coverage for the administration and vocally longs for the days of Hope Hicks.

Part of the problem is the dysfunction within the communications team: with little cooperation and Trump’s unpredictability, staying on message can be well-nigh impossible.

Still, Trump reportedly feels ripped off in his selection and disappointed in Shine’s lack of media savvy.

  4. Mr. Shine will soon be silently cheering for an impeachment so he can be out of this job and away from the DC lunatic.

When you have a leader who enjoys chaos, dysfunction is the function rather than a bug. I have no sympathy for the Communications Director or any of his minions, but there is no way to have a department that creates rainbows in this WH.
You know the joke about the kid digging through the pile of manure because "there must be a pony in here somewhere…that’s what these guys are doing, but the person who thinks there is a pony is the boss. He’s standing there telling them to dig while he adds to the pile.
