The Tea Party Express’ next stop? Bart Stupak’s district.
The group announced in an email today that it will hold three tea party rallies to oppose the Michigan Democrat — in Ironwood, Escanaba and Sault Sainte Marie — and will launch a TV and radio campaign calling for his defeat.
Joe Wierzbicki, coordinator of the Tea Party Express, said in the release that Stupak, whose abortion compromise with the White House gave Democrats the votes they needed to pass health care reform in the House, had “sold out the American people and voted for that awful health care bill, so now we’re going to repay the favor and vote him out of office.”
The rallies in Stupak’s district will be held April 8 and 9. There are more Tea Party Express rallies in Stupak’s district than in the district of any other member of Congress in the country, the release said.
