RNC Chairman Michael Steele does have a history of misspeaking. But still…
Last night on Fox News, Steele suggested that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi should go before “the firing line.” Not the best choice of words considering the threats and incidents of violence against Democrats across the country since health care reform passed.
“On the night that that this bill passed, I looked America in the eye and asked them to join me in firing Nancy Pelosi,” Steele said. “And I’ll say it again. This woman has been derelict in her leadership duty to the country.”
Steele was likely referring to FireNancyPelosi.com, a new GOP fundraising site.
And then he said this:
This November, they’re gonna pay. So let’s start getting Nancy ready for the firing line this November.
