It didn’t take long for House Intel Committee chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) to hit back after President Donald Trump pretended to not know who Schiff is and called him a “political hack.”
I can understand why the idea of meaningful oversight terrifies the President. Several of his close associates are going to jail, others await trial, and criminal investigations continue.
We’re going to do our job and won’t be distracted or intimidated by threats or attacks.

Earlier Wednesday, Trump had asked where Schiff got the authority to investigate him and accused the congressman of just trying to raise his political profile. Schiff has significant power to escalate the Trump-Russia investigation, along with launching probes into other parts of Trump’s campaign and presidency.
During the State of the Union Tuesday, Trump warned against “ridiculous partisan investigations,” saying that they would inhibit economic growth.
I love Adam!
(from a straight guy)
Where they got the authority?
The same place the Republicans got it when they impeached Bill Clinton in 1998.
I love to hear stuff like this from people who know far more details than the rest of us.
Where did Schiff get his authority? Let me explain it in simple words Trump might understand. Congressional investigations go back to the founding of the Republic. Representative Schiff is the chair of a Congressional committee with authority to conduct investigations.
Next question.
Schiff’s Anger Translator: “I can understand why whiny little not-potty-trained 3-year-old Donald Trump is pissing in his Underoos because we know that his finances show he is Putin’s bottom bitch, and I can also understand, due to the President’s stupidity and dementia and the fact that he has been an egotistical asshole since birth, why the President still cannot comprehend that winning 40 seats in the House in 2018 means the Democrats own his sorry fat ass.”
(With apologies to Luther.)
