In a statement released today, the Republican National Committee announced its March fundraising numbers. RNC Chairman Michael Steele’s statement follows:
The RNC raised $11.4 million, a record high for a mid-cycle March. The RNC has $11.3 million cash-on-hand and $0 debt.
“Last month’s fundraising success is a testament of America’s opposition to the Democrats’ government-run health care legislation. Americans are angered and disappointed that Congressional Democrats put the interest of their political bosses above the interests of their economic well-being, caving to back room deals and strong-arm political tactics. For over a year, Democrats sought to impose a radical health care agenda while the people repeatedly said ‘No’ and 2.5 million jobs were lost. Americans are ready to fire Nancy Pelosi. The RNC will use these resources to build the infrastructure needed to elect conservative candidates that believe in the fundamental principles of lower taxes and smaller government that the American people are clearly demanding.” – RNC Chairman Michael Steele
