Sheriff Joe Arpaio will reportedly announce today whether he’s running for governor in Arizona.
As we reported last week, a new Public Policy Polling survey shows that Arpaio leads in the Republican primary, ahead of Gov. Jan Brewer (R) 33% to 25%.
Without Arpaio in the race, Brewer gets 38% of the vote, followed by her closest challenger at 19%.
According to the local ABC affiliate:
Sources say Arpaio took the weekend to decide whether to run for governor and will announce his decision Monday.
Those sources suggest the Sheriff will indeed throw his hat in the ring.
