Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) is being investigated by the House Ethics committee for a number of alleged ethics violations. And the GOP has been pushing for Rangel to give up his chairmanship of the House Ways and Means Committee. But don’t ask Rangel about it! Because according to the congressman, that’s just “rude.”

NBC’s Betsy Cline tried to ask Rangel about the ethics probe and his chairmanship outside the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington D.C. “Do you foresee the ethics panel investigation hindering your work as chairman of House Ways and Means?” she asked.

“If I did, I would not continue to be the chair,” Rangel said.

And then:

Cline: “How exactly did you forget to file that on your taxes?”

Rangel: “You shouldn’t be that way, you know that? I know it’s your job and I don’t blame you, but it’s really so rude.”
