CHICAGO (AP) — Former President Barack Obama is set to hold the first public event of his post-presidential life in the place where he started his political career.
Obama will speak Monday at the University of Chicago, where his presidential library is planned.
College students from around the Chicago area are expected to attend. The invitation-only event is being billed as part of his post-presidency goal to “encourage and support the next generation of leaders.”
Obama delivered his presidential farewell speech in Chicago in January.
His first public engagement since then comes as President Donald Trump nears his 100-day mark in office.

Now that I would tune into if I knew what time and if it will be aired. He’s a pleasure to listen to, and an even bigger pleasure now after having to listen to the Idiot-in-Chief of this great country of ours. He might even make me feel like all is not lost…even if it feels like it is. I think I need someone like him, that has a good grounding in this Presidenting stuff to assure me we are not all fucked.
Btw, did anyone see the news of his recent trip to a remote island near Tahiti he and Michelle went to so he could write his memoirs? It is to die for. I looked it up on Google Maps and checked it out… the private atoll of Tetiaroa. Just spectacular. I will never see something like that in my lifetime…nor can I afford that kind of thing but, WOW…just stunningly beautiful and looks totally serene.
