NBC reporter Peter Alexander’s twitter account was hacked on Sunday by hackers claiming to be Turkey’s “cyber army.” Alexander’s account then issued a series of spammy pro-Turkey messages and threats to President Donald Trump, according to a Washington Post report.
One tweet read: “Mr Trump, we will tear down blood vessels of those who are hostiles to TURKIYE. Be wise and learn about Turkish people in history.”
Per the Post, an account named Ayyildiz Tim took responsibility for the attack.
Alexander’s account was soon restored.
Thank you @NBCNews and @Twitter for quickly responding after my account was hacked this morning. It’s been resolved. Now, back to work.

The same account reportedly has previously hacked former Fox News personalities Greta Van Susteren and Eric Bolling, India’s top liaison with the UN and the president of the World Economic Forum.
