House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) will go ahead with a hearing scheduled for Thursday, even as the attendance of the primary witness — Attorney General William Barr — is in question.

Per Politico, the committee plans to hold a Wednesday morning vote to establish that Democrats and Republicans can split an extra hour of questioning based on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s redacted report.

“Administration witnesses — or any witnesses — have to come in and be examined as the committee sees fit, not as they see fit,” Nadler said. “He is supposed to show up on Thursday. And we will take whatever action to take if he doesn’t.”

The Department of Justice has warned the committee against lines of questioning based on the Mueller report in a public hearing; Democrats on the committee have threatened subpoenas if Barr plays hooky.

  2. Barr’s spokesperson has informed the House he’ll testify in any month having 29 days, and no other.

  3. Look how regal Barr is! Has to be questioned in a comfortable way.

Ha! That would be February, every 4 years, my sister’s birthday.
    (I think that’s right)

ETA: But Nadler is still going to subpoena Barr anyway, like he said yesterday, if Big Bad Barr doesn’t show, right?
