WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump’s national security adviser says the administration is putting Iran “on notice” after it tested a ballistic missile.

Michael Flynn told reporters Wednesday that the Trump administration “condemns such actions by Iran that undermine security, prosperity and stability throughout and beyond the Middle East that puts American lives at risk.”

He says “Iran is now feeling emboldened,” criticizing the Obama administration for failing “to respond adequately.”

Flynn says that “we are officially putting Iran on notice,” although it’s not clear what he meant.

A defense official said this week that the missile test ended with a “failed” re-entry into the earth’s atmosphere. The official had no other details, including the type of missile. The official was not authorized to discuss the matter and spoke on condition of anonymity.

There you go it is Obama’s fault.

We have to stop fucking around with Trump. He and the GOP must understand that what ever happens they own it.

No point in trying to work with these folks.

  2. Would like more background on why Iran did this test at this time, but it seems hard to ignore that frosty relations with the DT administration and the nat sec team may have contributed to the decision. I have a hard time believing that this would’ve happened under Clinton, especially if she retained Kerry at DOS. Flynn and others have basically signaled a willingness to do away with the nuclear treaty and contemplate war. Iran has lots of oil and we know DT is greedy for it. We also know that the US used to basically run Iran’s oil and prop up its government, and that DT was probably a big fan of the Shah in the 70s. I wonder if his family ever did business over there during the Pahlavi dynasty’s reign. DT faced a stiff resistance here to his attempts to trample on the civil rights of Muslims. Trump basically acted as if we were in a state of war against the entire religion, because he detained people who had committed no crime. I don’t think he was expecting that level of resistance from Americans. It leads me to believe that Flynn and the war hawks might tell Trump that he needs to go bigger on this anti-Muslim campaign in order to justify harsher measures. War with Iran would be such a move. Neocons have been pining for one for years. This is something to keep a close watch on.

  3. Don’t worry. Bibi will be launching his rockets soon enough and then it won’t matter. Hope you or your kids are not in the military. Another Republican President about to make more “heroes”.

  4. Next step, double secret probation!

  5. So a war with another country whose name starts with Ir. Delightful.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility for Trump to use nukes against Iran. We are entering dark times.
