Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said today that the staffing shakeup in Afghanistan should extend beyond Gen. Stanley McChrystal — and perhaps to the embassy there as well.
McCain said Obama’s decision to relieve McChrystal was “completely understandable.” Speaking on Good Morning America, McCain said he had told the president that America needed a “new team over there as well, perhaps at the embassy and other areas.” The senator also added that he thought it was a bad idea to set a date for a withdrawal from the country.
