On Sunday, we reported that two GOP Senators — Jon Kyl (R-AZ) and Kit Bond (R-MO) — had suggested “regime change” as a good U.S. goal for Iran.

Well, add Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) to that list. Last night on The O’Reilly Factor, the former GOP presidential nominee endorsed “regime change” in Iran.

In the middle of answering Bill O’Reilly’s question about his assessment of sanction possibilities, McCain said:

But I think you left out something, and that is our advocacy for regime change in Iran — and I don’t mean through military action — by helping, supporting, assisting in a variety of ways, including internet access and encouragement of elements within Iran to overthrow the regime.

Now to be fair, just like Bond, McCain doesn’t seem to be calling for an all-out invasion or covert military campaign to advance the goal of “regime change.” No, McCain wants to use “internet access” to push regime change. Oh, and the “encouragement of elements within Iran to overthrow the regime.” Sounds kinda familiar.
