Members of Congress on Sunday discussed passing a short term spending bill that would keep the government open for another week or two while the nation mourns the death of former President George H.W. Bush, The New York Times reported.

According to people familiar with the conversations, the bill would just delay the deadline for a government shutdown and President Trump has said he would be willing to approve the bill. Currently, the deadline to pass a spending bill — that would have to appease Trump’s border wall funding interests — is Friday.

ush is set to lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda until Wednesday and many lawmakers are planning to attend his funeral on Wednesday.
