Rep. Steve King (R-IA) ended his midterm campaign with a homophobic bang, criticizing House Republicans’ campaign arm for backing a gay candidate in another race and making a bizarre joke about Supreme Court justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.
According to a Monday Mediaite report, King doubled down on his recent beef with the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) by expressing his disgust that the organization backed an openly gay candidate.
? Now @SteveKingIA is attacking the NRCC for backing a gay candidate:
“They sent money over to support a candidate in a primary in California who had a same-sex partner that they put all over glossy mailers…That’s hard to write a check to those guys when they do that.” #IA04 pic.twitter.com/TXrF67KIoE

“They sent money over to support a candidate in a primary in California who had a same-sex partner that they put all over glossy mailers,” King says in the Twitter video. “I don’t know if they were holding hands or what was the deal. Man, that’s hard to write a check to those guys when they do that, so I’m hoping we get conservative leadership in the House.”
It is unclear to which candidate King is referring.
Per Mediaite, that comment was only King’s second homophobic utterance of the day.
At an earlier campaign stop Monday, King bizarrely said that he hopes Sotomayor and Kagan “elope to Cuba” and give Republicans more Supreme Court seats.
I believe in the Nineteenth Amendment solution.
Was it China, Russia, or Sauds who told him they fixed the election for him?
Is he a fan of Clinton’s “Don’t Ask - Don’t Tell”?
Or does he favor big government checking into everyone’s sexual preferences?
Cuz he sure ain’t conservative.
Just remember: The Steve Kings of America are not the real problem. They’re only the symptom of the problem, which is millions of Americans, district by district, state by state, who will vote for any odious pile of excrement marked “R”.
Stay classy, Steve.
