Vice President Joe Biden continued the president’s criticism of Republican obstructionism today, saying “it’s time for everybody to start taking responsibility. You just can’t continue to say no. What are you for?”
On The Today Show Biden was asked about the president’s remarks on the climate in Washington.
He responded that the “obstructionist ways of the United States Senate” are “most frustrating,” particularly “on the part of the Republicans, requiring 60 votes, a supermajority, for virtually every single solitary initiative we’ve had.”
Biden continued: “They may very well reap immediate political benefit by turning off so many voters,” but that “they have to take responsibility for a nation that continues to be mired in unemployment, that continues to have a slow recovery, that continues to be in a position where the American public doesn’t have a lot of faith in us, all of us, Washington.”
“And just because it’s a loss for a Democrat’s agenda, doesn’t mean it’s a win for them,” he said.
