In classic form, Fox News host Sean Hannity shrugged at Tuesday’s New York Times report revealing President Donald Trump’s desire to use the Department of Justice as his own personal attack dog to go after his political opponents.
“Does that sound like breaking news to you? Because, it isn’t, it shouldn’t,” Hannity said Tuesday night. “We know how the President feels about Hillary and James Comey,” naming the two people Trump wanted the DOJ to prosecute.
Hannity then made a false claim about Hillary Clinton’s criminality and smeared his two fellow cable networks, CNN and MSNBC, tut-tutting that they would have known about Trump’s authoritarian instinct if they’d just covered his rallies.
Per the New York Times, then-White House counsel Don McGahn rebuffed Trump’s desire, outlining the myriad ways he’d be punished for such a vindictive move both in Congress and at the ballot box.

Hannity is corpulent in body and mind.
That actually should describe the response to the news that Hannity has no ethical or professional standards. As he said in a different context > “We know how he feels about [being ethical; he doesn’t care,]”
Hannity - “Yeah … so? Trump is a wannabe tyrannical despot … nobody knew that?”
You could dismiss him with contempt if he weren’t listened to by millions of people. As it is, this is propaganda that undermines our way of life. Have to give CNN credit for making it clear this morning in an analysis piece by Stephen Collinson that not using the justice system against your political rivals is one bulwark of our peaceful transitions of power. His tribalist nonsense is a threat to that. Not sure what to do about it but hope his playing footsie with Trump brings about his downfall.
After we win the second civil war, let’s learn from history and make sure none of those traitor pricks get a damned statue.
