Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) plans to swap his chairmanship of the Senate Judiciary Committee for that of the Finance Committee, seemingly clearing the way for Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to take the helm at judiciary.
According to a Friday Politico report, Grassley will return to the Finance Committee chairmanship to take the gavel from the retiring Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT). Grassley will also take his title as Senate pro tem, or longest-serving senator in the majority party and third in line of succession.
“The economy is better than it’s been in years and there’s a sense of optimism about the future of our country that people haven’t felt in a long time thanks to the pro-growth policies of a Republican President and a Republican majority in Congress,” Grassley told Politico. “Looking ahead, at the Finance Committee, I want to continue to work to make sure that as many Americans as possible get to experience this good economy for themselves.”
Graham has previously expressed interest in heading the Senate Judiciary Committee, a post critical to Trump agenda goals, including judicial confirmations.
From one crazy old white man to another
Grassley helped screw up the Supreme Court now he can help with the continued decline of the federal budget.
Graham plans to confirm himself for Attorney General some fine day in the near future.
Both of those dirty old fossils are bought out right wing Trump traitors. The Dems need to fricking go AFTER these traitors…
He’s certain to get a lot done there, being so persuasive that the House Ds will fall right in line. /s
Will Graham have his snarling game face on when he takes over?
