Fox News’s Geraldo Rivera attributed his own intelligence to his dabbling this week in the conspiracy theory that Democrats planted pipe bombs among their own to galvanize their voters and embarrass President Donald Trump.
Never mind; outsmarted myself in conjuring false flag operation designed to hurt @realDonaldTrump & #GOP. Actual alleged perp 56-year old #CesarSayoc is apparently stereotype most media assumed: a middle-aged, rabid, extreme right winger w a troubled past & long criminal record.

As recently as Thursday night, Rivera was calling the bomb scares a “heavy-handed” “elaborate hoax” intended to make Trump look bad.
Cesar Sayoc, a middle-aged Floridian who drove a van plastered with pro-Trump, anti-Democrat decals, was arrested Friday morning in connection to the attempted attacks.
Watch Rivera’s comments here:
Outsmarting Geraldo is such a low bar he can even do it to himself.
Geraldo: ‘I Outsmarted Myself’ With ‘False Flag’ Pipe Bomb Theory
“Only I could outsmart myself,” he went on to say.
“Out-smarted myself with the whole Al Capone’s Vault thing, too. And every other dumbass thing I’ve ever said or done … outsmarted myself there, too. If I wasn’t so fucking smart, people wouldn’t think I was so fucking dumb.”
Geraldo Rivera must be pretty fucking stupid to be duped so easily by Geraldo Rivera.
The mustache of misunderstanding. Why is this hack still around?
