President Obama introduced the American Jobs Act yesterday at the White House, clutching a print-out bound by a paper (or binder, fine) clip. Can you even believe that he would use a clip like that? What a jerk. Wait, what?
Yes, this was a topic of some apoplexy among Fox News’ morning muppets on the Fox & Friends program today. Check out the clip below, via Media Matters, to see them question Obama’s use of a “chintzy” clip — as stolen from this similarly concerned New York Post subhead — during a recession.
DOOCY: Meanwhile, come and get your copy. President Obama’s jobs bill, hot off the presses — at Kinko’s? Hundreds of billions in tax hikes and new spending bound together with a chintzy clip. Look at that thing.
BRIAN KILMEADE (co-host): Right.
DOOCY: What’s that about?
KILMEADE: We’ve never had the word “chintzy” in the cold open before.
GRETCHEN CARLSON (co-host): We’re in a recession.
And you wonder why.
