The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee reported today that it outraised its Republican counterpart in the first quarter, and has $2.3 million more in cash on hand.

The DSCC raised $6 million in March and has more than $17 million on hand — compared to the NRSC’s $5.1 million March haul, and the $15 million the Republican group has on hand.

DSCC Executive Director J.B. Poersch released this statement on the March numbers:

“As the election gets closer, enthusiasm for Democrats is growing and our strong fundraising numbers are evidence of that. Republicans continue to side with the special interests over doing what is right for the American people, and that is a losing strategy. In the months to come, Democrats will work tirelessly to overcome Republican obstructionism and pursue policies which place the middle-class over the corporate special interests.
