Deputy US Attorney: Cohen Will Pay ‘Very, Very Serious Price’

In a statement outside the courtroom Tuesday, a federal prosecutor said Michael Cohen “decided that he was above the law, and for that he’s going to pay a very, very serious price.”

Robert Khuzami, deputy U.S. attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office for New York’s Southern District, outlined the eight felony charges to which Cohen had pleaded guilty.

“These are very serious charges and reflect a pattern of lies and dishonesty over an extended period of time,” Khuzami said. “They are significant in their own rights. They are particularly significant when done by a lawyer, a lawyer who through training and tradition understands what it means to be a lawyer, to engage in honest and fair dealing and adherence to the law.”

Khuzami acknowledged that “this case is unique in many ways,” but said it was fundamentally the same as every other “because they all share the same message.”

“And that message is that the rule of law applies,” he said.

  1. I bet a poor black man caught with a joint in his pocket has gotten a more serious price for his crime.

White people put the “white” in white-collar crime.

Cohen has announced in open court that he was a co-conspirator. I think that makes the pardon situation a little less likely.

His client is the one who should be paying a much more serious price. Trump should’ve stayed out of politics. His life of criminality is about to catch up to him. All of them,” conservatives,” just short for con.

  4. I hope that this ends up being true, and that all of the people involved in Trump’s campaign that broke the law and cheated the system in order to get Trump elected end up in jail. Justice has to apply to everyone, and these people did about the most unjust thing you can in America, cheat in an election. We can only hope that this continues to snowball, and that a historic wave election sweeps Republicans out of power in Congress and stymies everything Trump tries to do, followed by an even bigger wave in 2020 that puts Democrats in power across the nation, with a mandate to make sure our elections are fair and free of manipulation.

It’s too bad justice won’t mean removing Trump’s judicial picks from the bench, or returning our government programs to their state before he took office…America has already been damaged due to his actions. Not much we can do but work to undue the damage, and that means making sure Republicans don’t hold office unless they show themselves to be Americans first, not Republicans.

Good work dumbfk morons in Wisconsin, Florida and Michigan. If you weren’t such irredeemable misogynists (and those that will do anything they say), we wouldn’t be in this predicament.
