The U.S. Coast Guard offered up some ideas of side hustles for its employees who will go an undetermined period without pay due to the shutdown, including holding garage sales, walking dogs and babysitting.

According to a Wednesday Washington Post report, the tip sheet called “Managing your finances during a furlough” was taken down after the outlet inquired about it.

One particularly condescending tip read: “While it may be uncomfortable to deal with the hard facts, it’s best to avoid the ‘hide your head in the sand’ reaction. Stay in charge of the situation by getting a clear understanding of what’s happening.”

The Coast Guard is the only branch of the military that receives its funding from the Department of Homeland Security instead of the Defense Department, thus is the only one to lose funding during the shutdown.
