President Trump is considering appointing former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) to replace Jeff Sessions as attorney general, CBS News reported.

According to two people familiar with the discussions who spoke to CBS’ Major Garrett, the list of possible replacements will continue to grow over the next several days. Trump is also mulling Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is on her way out of office, as well as Trump personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and former Attorney General William Barr, who served in President George H.W. Bush’s administration.

Politico noted that Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) could also be possible contenders.

Christie, who is often the subject of viral criticism over his bombastic behavior, has been looking for a gig since he left office in January.

Christie and Trump have been friends for years and Christie even endorsed Trump after he dropped out of the presidential race in 2016. Christie also was plucked to lead Trump’s transition team after he was elected.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham started the Christie speculation when she floated him as a Sessions replacement during her show on Wednesday night, just hours after Sessions was forced to resign.

    “Time to make the donuts!”

  3. He’s only being “considered” so he can be rejected, because Chris Christie, after debasing himself, has become Trump’s personal punching bag. Christie has been endlessly jerked around the last two years because he keeps crawling back no matter how much he gets picked on and pushed around.

It’s the fate of bullies to end up being bullied by a bigger one. I don’t feel sorry for him.

  4. Just a distraction until Kris Kobach comes out of the bathroom, where he has been crying since late Tuesday night…

  5. Probably won’t pick Kobach now that he’s an official loser. We all knew he was worse than a loser but now it’s recorded he lost an election.
