A crop of popular liberal freshmen—Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA)—and returner Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) have been appointed to the House Oversight Committee, vested with the power to investigate President Donald Trump.

Committee chairman Elijah Cummings (D-MD) approved the new members, according to a Tuesday Politico report.

“I am excited — there were a lot of people that wanted to come on our committee,” he told Politico.

  3. AOC, Tlaib, Pressley and Khanna are just the kind of people doing just the kinds of things that John Lewis has encouraged and done his entire life. He gave the commencement address at my son’s graduation a few years ago. His repeated phrase was “Get in the way” … of injustice, of corruption, of those who would hurt others, of misuse of power.

  5. Right, and it is time to get rough when the Repugs are pissing on the Dems legs.
