The Phoenix-area man indicted on Tuesday for helping plan the attack on Pamela Geller’s Muhammad cartoon contest in Garland, Texas, also ran a wildly unpopular moving company.

Abdul Malik Abdul Kareem’s day job appears to have been running Git-r-Done Moving in Phoenix, a moving service so thoroughly panned by reviewers that it has one star on Yelp. The Better Business Bureau gave the company an F. Reviewers complained strenuously on Yelp about everything from the movers overcharging customers to not showing up for moves to stealing customer items to losing one customer’s dog.

“USELESS! CRAPPY SERVICE and just plain DUMB!”

“It was by far, the worst ‘service’ I have ever received.”

“NEVER EVER EVER USE THEM!”

Kareem, who also goes by the name Decarus Thomas, allegedly provided the two gunmen with the weapons they used to carry out the May attack and helped them practice shooting in the desert near Phoenix before the shooting. The two alleged gunman, Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi, were killed in a shootout with a policeman before they could enter the venue hosting the cartoon contest.

Arizona corporate records list Decarus Thomas as the owner of Git-r-Done Moving Services LLC. The Arizona Republic reported that Kareem ran a moving and carpet cleaning business. It appears that Kareem added the carpet cleaning component later, as the business is listed as Git-r-Done Moving and Cleaning Services on Yelp under the same address. It appears that Thomas also ran Five Star Moving, which shares a phone number and address with Git-r-Done.

Here are some of the lowlights from Git-r-Done’s reviews on Yelp.

Customer feared for her safety

One reviewer’s experience with Git-r-Moving left her wondering whether she should have had called the police.

A reviewer listed as “Ashley A.” wrote that she feared for her safety after calling to complain that the movers were late and to notify the company that she was ready to cancel the move:

I was SCREAMED at, BERATED, INSULTED, and DAMNED as another ‘awful customer’ that he’s ‘sick of’. At which point he screamed at [sic] he is ‘in his car and ’bout to come tell me his opinion’. – I feared for my safety that I may be physically harmed and almost called the police.

Ashley wrote that eventually, “angry, unprofessional, and creepy men” arrived to help her move. She also claimed that “the employees were talking about drugs” and about “dealing shrooms” throughout the move.

“I cannot tell you how many times I felt I almost had to call the police to supervise the activity, and foolishly out of fear for my safety and belongings did not,” Ashley concluded in the review.

Movers lost a customer’s dog

Forget damaged furniture — one customer claimed that the movers lost track of her pet dog.

“They dropped my sons dresser, lost pieces of my furniture and let my two dogs escape. When I asked if they knew my dogs got loose they responded with ‘oh yeah we were loading Shit up,'” a reviewer listed as Amanda J. wrote in March 2014.

An employee allegedly stole a customer’s phone

A Yelp reviewer listed as Rosa P., wrote in June 2013 that the employees of Git-R-Done “STOLE my iPhone and then they took my entertainment shelves with them since they left in such a hurry.” Rosa complained that though the company owner promised to replace her stolen phone and shelves, he had not done so a month later.

Employees tossed items around and cursed at each other

The movers simply tossed furniture from the moving truck while helping one unhappy customer.

“My husband walked outside to find one guy on the truck tossing our CD/DVD wooden 6 foot tall DVD stand to a guy on the ground. The guy missed it, so it fell to the ground and shattered. Due to all these problems, the ‘manager’ of the move went outside and began cursing the other guys out up onside and down the other,” a reviewer listed as Vonda P. wrote in January 2014

“The owner of the business came to our home and took pictures of all the damage – the floor, the sectional, broken dishes, surround sound, other misc items. He promised to make good on it. He never paid a penny toward the damages. He is a liar, as he told us straight to our faces he would ‘make it right,'” Vonda continued.

Customer said movers should go to jail

A reviewer listed as “John P.” described himself as a former cop and complained that the movers cursed in front of his family:

What a joke this guy and his employees should be thrown in jail….Words can not explain how disgusted I am with Git R Done and the crew! Dropping F bombs in front of our kid and my wife…not cool! foreman threaten me till I told him to go ahead as I would then own the company and fire his A$$! after sueing him…plus being a former police officer I am pretty sure I could have taken him! USELESS! CRAPPY SERVICE and just plain DUMB!

F Grade with the Better Business Bureau

Git-r-Done Moving was also unpopular with the Better Business Bureau. The company claims on its website that it’s BBB accredited, but the bureau certainly disagrees with that assessment.

“Git-r-Done Moving & Cleaning Services, LLC is in current violation of BBB’s name and logo policy, and has falsely stated BBB accreditation (membership) or referenced the BBB name in an unauthorized manner,” a message on the BB website reads.

The bureau gave the moving company an F rating after five customers submitted complaints about the service.

One customer wrote in July 2013 that the movers damaged items and claimed that one employee “stole $20 out of my purse.”

The company received just two positive Yellow Pages reviews

There were a few bright spots in the reviews for Git-r-Done Moving. Although all eight Yelp reviewers recounted negative experiences, the moving company received two positive reviews at the Yellow Pages and one with the Better Business Bureau.
