Krause's mom was able to visit him yesterday morning for 20 minutes via video visitation at Washington County Jail, friend and supporter Anna Thomas told TPM. Another friend, Jill Turman, was able to speak with him via telephone.
Friends have rallied to the defense of Krause, the blacksmith the government says left a 12-ounce can of Pepsi soda with wires coming out of it sitting by the gym door on election day.
Krause's detention hearing is scheduled for Thursday afternoon in Fayetteville. Documents show that when he was arrested last month Krause invoked his fifth and sixth amendment rights to have his attorney present for all questioning.
