  2. Well, that, and the fact that unlike the usual Republican offender Franken will probably stand up there and actually talk about it. Here’s hoping it doesn’t make things worse.

  3. This morning an interviewee on NPR was saying that the Franken actions should be treated with equal discretion as those of Republican offenders. What lacked in her statements was the politically deniable factor that the incidents are not of equal offense.

  4. Some phrases it would be best for him to avoid: “I feel badly” (too late!); “I’m just groping for an answer here”; “Americans are feeling more and more squeezed these days.”
