Gunshots rang out as bystanders ducked for cover on videos filmed during an attack Wednesday on the offices of satirical French newspaper Charlie Hebdo.
Multiple gunshots can be heard in one video that appears to have been filmed a block or so away from the building, although it’s unclear whether the gunfire was occurring on the street or inside the offices.
Someone can be heard yelling at a bystander on the sidewalk to get down, and the bystander then ducks between two cars:
Another video shot from a nearby rooftop shows multiple people taking cover while two gunmen enter an intersection at the end of the block. The gunmen can be heard shouting “Allahu Akbar” as they open fire:
A third video that appears to show what happened after the attackers left the Charlie Hebdo building captures two gunmen emerging from a black Citroen in black balaclavas and toting rifles. They then approach a police officer laying on the ground and shoot him before returning to the car and fleeing the scene. It’s unclear whether the police officer died.
WARNING: This video is graphic and disturbing.
