Real estate mogul Donald Trump said Tuesday during the Republican presidential debate that he’s still committed to running as a GOP candidate in the 2016 race.

Trump signed a pledge to the Republican National Committee earlier this year after publicly refusing to rule out a third-party bid. But he recently reignited speculation that he might renege on that agreement, saying as recently as Nov. 22 to ABC News that he’d have to “see what happens.” He also refused to rule out a third-party bid in that interview.

CNN debate moderator Hugh Hewitt asked Trump if he was still committed to running as a Republican.

“I really am, I’ll be honest,” Trump replied. “I really am.”

He stood by that comment in a post-debate interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo.

“When they asked it I did not hesitate, I decided to just say, ‘Yes I’m a Republican,'” Trump said. “And I’m going to be a Republican, I’m not going to be doing a third party. No matter what.”
