Donald Trump is projected to win the Alabama Republican primary, according to CNN and Fox News.
TPM’s PollTracker Average showed Trump with 42 percent of the vote going into the primary. Trump also recently received an endorsement from Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), who praised Trump’s stance on illegal immigration and said he would “fix it.”
Sessions endorsed Trump at a Madison, Alabama rally, which Trump touted to as “the biggest crowd of the political season by far” with 32,000 attendees. The actual number of attendees was not believed to be that large, according to AL.com.
As an Alabamian, I’m both sad that Trump won here and filled with schadenfreude that he’s winning a lot of the states that would mock us for the Trump win.
As a New Yorker who was surprised to find a progressive community in Birmingham, under the shadow of Vulcan, of all places, I understand what you mean.
I almost literally live under the shadow of Vulcan.
This photo is wonderful. Trump beaming with pleasure, but who are the two really sad dudes behind him? The state chair and his vice?
I might have met you in the bar with the bagpipe group being formed for the city by a guy from San Francisco a few years back.
God knows it seemed to be the liberal hangout and I went there every day for about a month when I had a project nearby.
