The official inauguration portrait of President Donald Trump sold by the Library of Congress had a glaring typo in the very first sentence.
The quote on the original print read: “No dream is too big, no challenge is to great. Nothing we want for the future is beyond our reach.”
Unfortunately the second instance of “too” was replaced with its homonym “to,” rendering the sentence unintelligible.
The original webpage for the product was taken down around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to a report by the Washington Post. The original page, complete with misspelling, remains accessible via the Internet Archive.
Here’s a closer look:
Earlier Sunday, the Department of Education’s official Twitter account apologized for misspelling W.E.B. Du Bois’ surname as “DeBois” in a tweet posted hours earlier. In the process, the Department of Education misspelled the word “apologies” as “apologizes.”
“Printed in the USA, this print captures the essence of Donald Trump’s campaign for the presidency of the United States,” the original caption on Trump’s inauguration portrait read.
No wonder the page was deleted.
Trump is “to great” as rattlesnakes are to charming
Hell…I thought the glaring typo was putting “President Donald Trump” where “Resident Fraud Dumblefuck” was supposed to go.
I saw this yesterday - too funny but emblematic of this admin.
But perhaps the TPM glass house should refrain from the stone throwing? Love you guys, but I think we can agree that a copy editor wouldn’t be a complete waste of money…
